MIND ON STRENGTH

Mind on Strength is a grassroots initiative created by Trevaun Douglas to support youth and give back to the Lawrence Heights community and surrounding NIA neighbourhoods. Through mentorship, community events, wellness, and meaningful experiences, Trevaun works to create opportunities for young people to build confidence, discover their strengths, and feel supported. Mind on Strength is about more than physical fitness. It is about mental wellness, personal growth, and helping youth understand the importance of believing in themselves and the people around them.

Trevaun works with local organizations, community members, and youth to create programs and experiences that bring people together and respond to the needs of the community. His goal is to continue investing in young people, creating positive opportunities, and building stronger connections throughout Lawrence Heights and other NIA neighbourhoods. Through Mind on Strength, Trevaun is committed to showing up for his community and making a difference one person at a time.

Bringing Neighbourhoods Together

Mind On Strength brought youth and families from Lawrence Heights and surrounding neighbourhoods together for a walk from Yorkdale to the CN Tower. The walk created a positive space for communities often divided by neighbourhood tensions and violence to connect, build relationships, and come together.

Thanks to the support of the community, Mind On Strength was able to give back to youth in Lawrence Heights and surrounding neighbourhoods with new shoes, essentials, and a day of community. What started with a goal to raise $50,000 is helping turn community support into real experiences and opportunities for local youth.

Giving Back

Youth from Lawrence Heights and surrounding communities came together for a day at Canada’s Wonderland, enjoying rides, making memories, and spending time together in a positive environment.

THE ORIGIN
STORY

Lawrence Heights is where Trevaun Douglas was raised and where his passion for giving back began. Raised by a single mother, he experienced firsthand the challenges that come with growing up with limited resources, including relying on food banks. Today, when he looks at the youth in Lawrence Heights and other NIA neighbourhoods, he sees himself in them. Mind on Strength was created to give back to the community that raised him, create opportunities for young people, and remind them that their circumstances do not define who they can become.
